What size cake stand should I order?
Traditional
We recommend that you allow a 2 inch border around the base of your cake. This will allow you plenty of room to decorate the cake in whatever fashion you wish. A 2 inch border technically translates to a cake stand that is four inches wider than the bottom layer of your cake.
French
We recommend that you allow a 3 inch border around the base of your cake. This will allow you plenty of room to decorate the cake in whatever fashion you wish. A 3 inch border technically translates to a cake stand that is six inches wider than the bottom layer of your cake. Please note if you are using the french stand for a square cake you must leave at least a 4 inch border around the cake, which translates to adding 8 inches to the base of your cake.
What height should I select for my cake stand?
This is really a personal preference as to how high of a profile you want. Take a look at our Gallery Of Cakes to see the differences in profiles. Either the 4 or 6 inch profile creates stunning pedestal for your cake. Also take into mind the height of your cake itself, we typically recommend the 6 inch profile for cakes that are a minimum of 4 tiers or more.
Can I place the cake directly on the cake stand?
We do not recommend this….the cake will discolor your copper cake stand…it may also effect the flavor of your cake. We recommend that you use a thin cardboard or other material the same color as your cake between your cake and the stand. Most pastry chefs will be able to supply this for you.
What if I do not see what I am looking for at this point in your store?
We would love to work with you on your custom cake stand, planters, pew hangars etc. Our craftsman have over 20 years of experience and can fulfill almost any request you may have. Contact us for a custom quote.
What if my cake stand gets fingerprints on it prior to my wedding day?
All of our products have a clear coat sealer placed on them that should protect them from most discoloration, but if for some reason you find you have excess fingerprints, smudges, etc, then use a mild soap and water to remove fingerprints. If you foresee excess handling of any of our products please be aware that you may need to perform maintenance on the products. We offer a easy kit that will allow for this upkeep. If you are purchasing our products with multiple uses planned our Maintenance Kit is highly recommended.
Can I return a product once I have received it?
Please refer to Our Return Policy, we have a 30 day guarantee for any type of manufacturing defects. But also realize that each piece is custom made to our clients specifications. If for some reason you change your mind once you have received the product and it is within our 30 day period we do charge 25% restocking fee. If it is manufacturing error we will of course take the product back with no charge to you.
If I am ordering multiple products can I combine shipping?
Yes!! If you are ordering multiple products we will work with you to find the most cost effective shipping method. We track all of our orders from the moment they come in…please Contact Us if you know you are planning on ordering multiple products and we will hold your shipment until your order is complete.
